Why has EPS partnered with Techstars?

The merchant maritime industry is one of oldest in the world, yet advancements in the business come slowly. The Techstars partnership addresses this long-standing issue through the accelerator programme. We aim to cultivate and mentor the next generation of entrepreneurs in an industry that’s ripe for disruption.

How does the programme work?
A
Selected startups will gather in EPS’ headquarters in Singapore for an intensive three-month programme of research and development, mentorship, and collaboration. The accelerator will culminate in February 2020 with a demo day wherein every startup will pitch its newly polished business to an audience of venture capitalists, corporate innovation leaders and industry experts with the goal of facilitating investment in the companies while broadening and energising the local entrepreneurial community.

What types of companies can apply?
A
Any company whose product or service covers the Themes we are looking for (see above). However, your startup may not fit in these Themes but still may be able to impact the maritime industry. We encourage all those who are looking to make a difference to apply.

I have already received funding, can I still apply?
A
Yes! We consider companies at various stages of funding.
Q
How many companies will be selected for the programme?
A
We will accept up to ten startups in each yearly programme.

I missed the 2019 programme, when can I apply for the 2020 class?
A
Feel free to send us a message any time but we will only be accepting application in June 2020 for the next programme. Watch this space for announcements!
